Pike- What would my teenagehood have been w/o you?
You know, I really wonder what my pre-teen and teenage years would have been without Christopher Pike's wonderful work.
The Last Vampire series is my absolute favorite of his many books, and has even hooked some of my non-reading friends. Now at the age of 20, I still long to read The Last Vampire over and over and over again.
A beautiful book by an outstanding author!

Vampire with a Soul
The Last Vampire series are my favourite books. As soon as I read the first page of the first book, I just fell in love with the character, Sita/Alisa. This is not just another vampire story, it's a tale of love and loss and selflessness. Sita develops rapidly as a soulful character, she acts as a vicious creature, but she loves and feels as a human. It has a perfect balance of love, violence, mysticism with a touch of comedy. The stories are written with excellent detail and with enough emotion so that you can feel everything that the characters feel. This story changes the way that you see vampires and goes against most of the cliches. I need a box of tissues everytime I read the books, which is usually every couple of months. I only wished that the story would have been extended beyond six books.

exellent books
i have the entire collection of the last vampire and i really enjoy them. my favorite was BLACK BLOOD the last book in the series. i would like to see more written in the series because the last one leaves you hanging. i really recomend ppl to read this series and hopefully you will have enjoyed it as much as i did. PIKE is a wonderful author

It was the best book ever!
All of the Last Vampire series just knocked me off my seat. I loved Seymour, I loved Sita, Ray, and even Kalika in the next few books. I've read all of them about 4 or 5 times and then I bought the collectors edition because I know that these books will be worth a lot of money in the future.

Amazing read for any Pike fans.
Ok, first of all, let me point out the very well known fact that Christopher Pike, as talented as he is, does not have that much respect from the critics, much like the Horn Book review of this novel. But that's because of a couple of reasons: First of all, you have to have patience with his books. What I mean by that is, I mean that in order for you to like it, you have to read the entire book of his. And, in the entire last vampire series, I think the entire series is one book, telling one story of the same character with a bunch of unique plot twists intertwining. It's a great book, and so is the rest of the series. Sita grows from a cold blooded creature to a character that You later learn to love if you read the rest of the series. The entire series is good, buy it, read it, enjoy it. you'll like it.

Good book.
This book is great. It's a nice sequel to #1, though it does become boring in some points.. There's small sub-stories that get told inside by the characters that dont really seem like they need to be there, but nonetheless, they add to the overall effectiveness of the plot.

I read this whole book last night. I just couldn't put it down! It was about a 3 1/2 hour read without too many breaks.. I found it took me 4 chapters to realize i had to go to the restroom and to actually get up to go.

The bad guy's mother is a bit off her rocker, being as old as she is.. Really sick minded, its no wonder that the boy turned out the way he was.

Anyway, it was a good book and i just couldnt put it down. I reccommend this read to anyone who is a fan of Christopher Pike. :)

Whisper of Death

Authors: Christopher Pike and Patricia MacDonald

Very weird and creepy
This book was one of the strangest books I have ever read, and I loved it. I mean the story was so cool and the characters were almost alive (well for most of the book). I mean it also takes a stab and bringing something new into a story. This book has a really big issue in it that is facing alot of teens today... abortion. I am glad that Mr. Pike is not afraid to pull all the punches and treat his readers as mature people. This book was very creepy with great characters that I wish could have been in more books. A MUST!!!!

If you've never read Pike, READ THIS BOOK FIRST!!
I've read everything by Christopher Pike I've ever been able to get my hands on. If you've never read anything by him, try this one first. The characters are very real. I compared myself to all of them at different times. I've read Wisper of Death twice, like most of his books, but I could read it over and over again and understand it a little more each time. It gets very deep and it has some hidden morals that you might not see on the surface. You won't be able to put it down until you're done. Then you'll want to pick it up again. A message to people who haven't read any of Pike's books: Read all the old stuff first. Books like Remember Me (my favorite), Witch, Wisper of Death, and Scavenger Hunt show Pike at his absolute best.

Totally the best book ever written by this man
I've read ALL of Christopher Pike's stuff, and I have to say, this book made me feel things I've never felt with his other books. I've always been fascinated with the concept of being one of the last people on earth, and the fact that Pike made it this total mystery just kept you biting your nails for more. I was really scared for those kids, and the novel really made you feel the lonliness and creepiness of being one of the only people left alive. I totally recommend this book!!

Is she still alive? Read this Great book and you'll find out yourself. YOu will enjoy this book. This is one of his BEST books. All his books are GREAT. He's the BEST and this is One of them to show you how good he is. If you think this book sounds GOOD then you're right. I love'd it and I think anyone would LOVE it just as much as me if only you read it. Don't sit here and read all these Reviews Read the BOOK. You'll be on the edge of your seat. You won't be able to put it down. I couldn't put that book down for nothing. IT WAS Tight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christopher PIKE"S #1 FAN, MICHELLE

Ann Rice Is the Perfect Anti-Hero
This is clearly one of my favorite Pike novels. The story is about two best friends; Ann Rice and Sharon McKay. When Ann's younger brother commits suicide, she blames Sharon, and decides that the only way she will ever rest is if Sharon suffers for what she has supposedly done. She sets up the most bizarre revenge scheme, and even stranger, pulls it off. But at a great cost. Just as interesting is the glimpse Pike gives into the world of law, and one girl's unfortunate experiences with it.

This book was turned into a made-for-tv-movie, which was not half as good. If you want the story, read the book.

Fall Into Darkness
This was the best Christopher Pike book I ever read. It has everything... mystery, suspense, horror, blood... I LOVED IT! One thing is weird though... I read the first edition of the book, it belonged to my teacher... in the first edition, the main character's name is Ann Rice, not Ann McFarland! I read the synopsis, and I was like, what's up with that? Oh well. I read the first edition of the book and I didn't even know it was a movie! I must see the movie! Fall Into Darkness was great! You have to read it it will leave you tingling!

pike fan
this was an awsome book. pike has done it again.
i have never been good at writing but, oh well.
i have not read this in while so bear with me.
well it starts out with shari cooper telling
about her being a ghost and how she died.
and the police thinking it was a suicide.
except for one.Yet, we dont know who the killer is.
out of 6 people that could have killed her at the
party when she was murdered. so it's a who don it type
of book. And even if you do figure out who the killer
is before it tells you. you will never guess
the killers motives. And while the investigation is happening and shari and jimmy
(an old friend that came to help her for he is a ghost too.)
are there every step
of the way. But,something dark is after shari.
Will she find out the killer? Will she go into the light?
Or will the dark thing that is after her get her?
sick,twisted, and awsome.
you will never be able to put the book down.

The story is so exciting that you won't get out of your seat
Christopher Pike is great. I love this book so much that I almost couldn't put it down. The author wrote a story that really catches my heart and I can't wait to find out the killer at the end. The ending is the climax of the story. This book is about a girl named Shari Cooper who died and then she goes through other people dreams during her afterlife to find out what really happened. I like the main character alot. There are lots of suspects here that you may have to keep track who is he/she. I recommend this book to everyone and I am looking forward to read the sequels.

One you'll surely want to read again and again...
For all the many wonders Pike has written, this is probably my favorite. Although the theme of the book, which is death, may seem a tad jaded and cynical, it is anything but. It offers a unique perspective on the after life; and what being alive truly means. I would say it is the type of book that gives you hope - without coming across as preachy - through the vivid descriptions and solid writing. It is something which touches the optimist in all of us, while still providing fast paced action and suspense.

This book tells the tale of Shari Cooper, a young woman whose life has been cut short after being pushed off a balcony by someone very close to her. She later resurfaces as a ghost, although she doesn't know it as a time. We travel with her as she visits friends and family; puzzling who could have killed this charming young girl.

What I especially liked about the book were the relations that Shari had with each of the individual characters. We really FEEL the close kinship she has with her brother Jimmy, or the brooding angst she had over her ex-boyfriend, Daniel. The characterization is dead on and painfully accurate, as each character has a unique voice in which they weave into the story.

All and all, a delightful tale, worth reading over and over, in my humble opinion. One of the best, you probably won't find something better in the young adult genre, that's for certain.

The Season of Passage
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Author: Christopher Pike
Average review score:

Most touching and insightful book ever created.
The Season of Passage by Christopher Pike is probably the most eye opening book ever written. He makes you see things that you probably never really considered before. We think we know so much and yet we know nothing. The characters are so beautifully created that you feel as though you know them. You cry when they are sad and laugh when something funny happens. I have read this book at least 3 times and have found something different that I had not noticed the first time each time I've read it. I don't beleive that anyone could read this book and not question everything that they have learned about humanity and other things. I beleive that people like Jennifer really do exist in the world and that maybe we are not as cold and cruel a race as one would think. That belief in this special kind of person is what makes living everyday worth it. Her character also gives me hope, that we do have some form of Guardian watching over us. Christopher Pike is a very special author with a special view of our world (seen in other books he's written). I think that maybe he is much more perceptive of the world than most people ever will be.

Poetically wriitten,thought provoking, emotion inducing
Have you ever read a book and felt that you knew the story? That perhaps it has always been there, just waiting to be written? The Season of Passage is THAT book. It is by far the most beautifully written, thought provoking, emotion inducing book that I have ever read. Words fall short when trying to describe it. It is a novel of horror, yet also of salvation. It is science fiction and romance at the same time. While this may seem at first glance to be contradictory, Mr. Pike manages to make it all fit beautifully together. There is no way for a description of this book to do it justice. It simply has to be read, the words felt. Only then can you understand the impact that this book has on its readers. I can promise that you will laugh, cry, question your view of things you always thought impossible, and feel all of the emotions of the characters as if you, too were there. This is a book that is so unforgettable that IT BECOMES A PART OF YOU.

You'll Come Back Again and Again
I first read this book at age 12, when it was published in 1993. At the time the concepts were very mature and, in retrospect, I probably wouldn't let a thirteen-year old pick this up - but my mother recognized the author as a teen horror writer who was one of my very favorites and did not relaize the level of adult subject matter.
Something brought me back to this book again and again over the years. True, I often came back to many Pike books, but this one outlasted my maturation into adulthood and remains exalted on my bookshelf as my all-time favorite. At some point I vowed to read the book each and every year, and at 21 I have nearly succeeded and probably read it eight or so times.
This book is always new to me. It is always haunting, and beautiful, with multiple stories and characters who are so real that they live on in my memory long after I have put the book down. I used to spend hours lending names and faces of famous people to the characters, for the movie that I am convinced this could become.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is netiher horror nor romance, sci-fi nor mystery, but something strange and compelling which encompasses all genres. It may sound peculiar but I have never read another book that infuses such a feeling of ... well, rapture. Reading rapture! Hokey, yes. Nonetheless - this book will stay with you.
I cannot wait to read it again.

Creatures of Forever (Last Vampire Series: No 6)
Published in Hardcover by Pocket Star (October, 1996)
Author: Christopher Pike
Average review score:

Remarkable!!! A definate 10!!!
Of all the books I've read, this one probably makes me think the most, but then all of Mr. Pike's books make me think. I agree with Mr. Pike when he says that me believes Sita herself wrote the story and not him. Although you are a talented author, I don't see how you could have come up with so many different twists in this book, but then what do I know?

I cried at the end of this book, like I did with Evil Thirst. Mr. Pike made me question everything I believe in. And I thank him for that. I would like to see another author try and make a believable character as well as Mr. Pike did. I doubt it will ever be done. Sita seems so much a part of life, that you would expect to find her if you looked for her. But I think there is a little bit of her in most people, because she shows human nature: which is to fear and hate what it does not understand. I wish this series was made into a movie, so that we could really see Sita.

Sita, the one Sita!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've read the whole series. It was soooooooo good. I felt like I'm so close to God. I felt like Sita is someone so close. It just made me my fantasy more wild. It made me realized positive things aren't always right, but that's no the point. Not only Sita is my favorte person, I don't want to say charecter because to me they're not charecters. Yaksha, Krishina and Seymore are also too. Although Seymore is more like a nerd. To me He's not a nerd from my point of view. The way how Sita had suffer. Her blood, her loves, her joy means a great deal but it's like you can't have all things at once. Pike is my favorite author. And you just can't miss any of his books. If you got his email adress please tell me. Oh and one more thing. I love the ending but it's killing me!

This series was the best I have ever read!!!
I love the last vampire series with all my heart and soul!!! when i am in a bad predicament i just think about what sita would do and it ALWAYS helps. I dont think that the last book should have ended like it did. i didnt want seymor to die, wishing he had sita to make his pain go away. i think that the series should be made into a movie, if not that, then the series should continue. my favorite parts in the series is when the people say they dont want to die and she says, "the you should have never been born" since i have read her books, i have bought my own dagger and have always been searching for a time to say her words. Alisa Perne, Laura Adams, Sita, whatever you want to call her, rulz!!! also, since then i have tried to become the great writer that christopher pike is, i have publishe 3 poems and i am working on publishing a book called Loves Fury, without C>P, i wuold be lost. Thanks.

The Midnight Club
Published in Hardcover by Archway (February, 1994)
Authors: Christopher Pike, Huggins, and Patricia MacDonald

The Ultimate
I've read almost every single Christopher Pike book ever written and THE MIDNIGHT CLUB tops my list as my favorite ever (along with THE LAST VAMPIRE series and REMEMBER ME). The Midnight club shows you the lives of five young people dying in a hospice. In the hour of darkness (midnight), they had formed a club and they tell stories of death, life, spirtuality, love, etc, etc. I admit, it is different from Pike's other books, but I wasn't disappointed one bit. It was a work of beauiftul art and it touched me deep in my heart. Once you read it, you'll be touched too. And you'll see that Christopher Pike will always be the best.

The Midnight Club
I must agree with the review posted by the reader from Iowa City, this is definently a book for all ages. It touches many senses, mostly love. Although it may sound depressing or morbid to read about teens in a hospice waiting to die, you find as you read, it is neither. You find yourself loving each character more and more with every turn of the page, and knowing they will live eternally in your mind and heart after the book is over. Their strength and bravery is touching and commendable, and after reading this novel, you will see what is really important in life is love and making the most of each day. The dramatic portrayal of each character is amazing. The stories told by the midnight club are also very memorable, with that notable Pike twist, and horror. Over all, this book is wonderful, and touching, it will leave you with a sense of warmth, and love, and a life lesson.

i loved it !
I have read many books of Christopher Pike's, "Midnight Club" is truly his greatest piece of work. The book has many stories told by kids who have cancer. Pike does a wonderful job illustrating these kids life, you feel their pain and suffering. One story that touched me the most, was the one with the Angel. The book was very easy to read, I finish it in one day. After reading this book, you realized that nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes! The main theme in the book, Pike focuses on is FORGIVENESS. I recommend this book to everyone. It's different than most of his other books. There's less action and gore, but still its wonderful book to read.

The Last Vampire

Authors: Christopher Pike and Patricia MacDonald
Average review score:

This book is about a vampire and her life story.
I've always love Christopher Pike. Especially these books. The have action, romance, and spirituallity. You feel like you're living Sita's life right beside her. His books have a power, a hold, no other author could duplicate. He spins a powerful web of intrigue and suspense. It's a touching story about a kind-hearted killing machine, longing to be human once more. If you like this book, read the rest of the series

The last vampire...
Sita is bieng spyed on. When she kills her source of information, she has to find SOME way to find out who is looking for her...and how much they know. She seeks out Ray, the son of her source. Someone with whom she seems to have a deep affinity for. Someone who reminds her so much of her husband Rama. She soon finds herself falling in love with him. But she can't ignore the fact that whoever is looking for her seems to know an aweful lot. When she attempts to seek him through his emplyees she is surprised at how much procaution they take against her--a small teenager who doens't look like she can hurt ONE guy much less ten. Who is the guy that hires men to watch her? Sita has an idea of who it might be...and that idea frightens her to death. For who she is thinking of is stronger than even HER. And she thought that she was the last vampire ALIVE...oops.
Chilling, Action-packed, and an eye-gluer. This book takes the cake. Wonderful read!

Truly a collection of his best works.
I do not see how anyone could rate this book any lower than a 5 star. Such compelling writing. I truly was moved. The way he lead you on with Sita's daughter Kalika. The surprises around every corner. And the ending. Oh book six was so moving. My I have to say that a good book you can't put down. But the best book MAKES you put it down because it is soo good you can't go on for a bit. You have to stop and consider or reread what has happened. He could not have come up with a better ending. The epiloge was a great way to end it with Seymour. You have simply got to read his whole series. The whole shabang of things. From The Last Vampire to The Last Vampire 6: Creatures of Forever. You will never regret reading such a book. My compliments to Christopher Pike. As I young writer you are such an inspiration and I truly could not compare to your work. Read the first collector's edition and then read this one. You won't regret it.

Witch

Witch - Christopher Pike
A great reading adventure. The outcome of reading the book is almost 'magical'. Julia, a seventeen year old 'good witch' has learned through her mother, that she has great gifts to help the world. The journey is enlightening. One thing her mother told her never to do is look into a pond with the moonlight shining upon it. She's intrigued by this statement and gets trapped into seeing the future because of it. The story line picks up after this vision and what she does to stop it, the actions from all her friends and the conclusion. Pike, always goes into depth of the characters. You will feel as though you know them. You will feel for them. Intriguing and magical, I give this book a high rating and would recommend to most young adults.

Witch was an incrediable book
Witch was one of the best books I've ever read. Julia was an incrediable character, and she was portrayed very realistically.I read The Last Vampire before this one, the 1st vampire book was my first Pike book, and i have to say Witch equals the series.I understood her motivation and I also understood what her best friend felt at the end because I felt for Amy, afraid of losing Julia, afraid that (she was going to sink below the surface again and never reappear) witchp pg.33 It was a good, but very sad book. I cried for a very loong time.

VERY BEST PIKE BOOK NEXT TO VAMPIRE SERIES
It was such a great book I would have given it 10 stars if that was possible. I usuall don't cry when I read a book but this one brought tears to my eyes. Pike is one of the best authors ever. I hope he keeps writing books for a long time from now. What's cool is that the witch in this story is good not bad. GREAT BOOK READ IT!!!!
